Welcome. Robert Emmet Lunney is a New York based actor and playwright.

As an actor, he starred as the Salesman (the demon Pazuzu) in Fox’s The Exorcist, with Geena Davis. He has appeared in numerous television shows including Boardwalk Empire, Blindspot, Elementary, Gotham, Law & Order and the recently accoladed After Forever. Film work includes Julie & Julia and 2030. On stage, he has performed extensively on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and in Regional theatre. Performing highlights include Tobias in Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance (Broadway); Michael in Brian Friel's Dancing At Lughnasa (Broadway); Atticus in To Kill A Mockingbird (Ford's Theater/D.C.); Howard Barker's solo poem, Gary, The Thief (World Premier/Potomac Theatre Project/NYC); Ball in Mr. Barker's Victory (PTP/NYC); Sidney Bruhl in Deathtrap (Triad Stage/NC), and Roy Cohn in Tony Kushner's Angels In America (Guest Artist/University of Alabama). 

As a playwright, his play, For Nina, an O'Neill Theater Center National Playwrights Conference semifinalist, is part of Williamstown Theatre Festival’s 2019 Fridays@3 reading series, and has been workshopped by Two River Theater (Red Bank, NJ), The Directors Company (NYC) and The American National Theatre (NYC). Famous Blue Raincoat, a finalist for the 2015 O'Neill, was developed and workshopped with Naked Angels (NYC). An Occurrence At Yankee Stadium, an absurdist dark comedy, has had developmental readings with Manhattan Class Company and the Lark Play Development Center (NYC). Cannon Beach is a detective noir. When You Wake (screenplay) is a father/son story of love and loss, as well as a demonic thriller.
