Robert Emmet Lunney is a New York based actor and playwright.
Robert played the demon opposite Geena Davis, in FOX'S The Exorcist (iHorror Award nominee: Best Actor).
He has guest-starred in numerous television shows including WeCrashed (Apple TV), The Blacklist, The Good Wife, Boardwalk Empire, Blindspot, Elementary, and Law & Order. Film work includes 2024's Fantasy Life (Matthew Shear), Julie & Julia (Nora Ephron), and Master (Mariama Diallo). On stage, he has performed extensively on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and in Regional theatre. Performing highlights include: Tobias in Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance (Broadway); Ed Devery in Garson Kanin's Born Yesterday (Broadway); Michael in Brian Friel's Dancing At Lughnasa (Broadway); Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird (Ford's Theater/D.C.); Gary in Howard Barker's solo poem, Gary, The Thief (World Premier/Potomac Theatre Project/NYC); Ball in Mr. Barker's Victory (PTP/NYC); Sidney Bruhl in Ira Levin's Deathtrap (Triad Stage/NC); and Roy Cohn in Tony Kushner's Angels In America (Guest Artist/University of Alabama).
Robert is a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre's Playwrights Unit. His plays include: For Nina (O'Neill Theater Center National Playwrights Conference semifinalist) was directed by Dylan Baker as part of Williamstown Theatre Festival’s Fridays@3 series and has had recent workshop/readings at Antaeus Theatre (Los Angeles), and Interact Theatre (L.A.); Famous Blue Raincoat, a finalist for the 2015 O'Neill, was developed and workshopped with Naked Angels (NYC); An Occurrence At Yankee Stadium, an absurdist dark comedy, has had developmental readings with Manhattan Class Company (NYC); Cannon Beach is a detective noir; When You Wake (screenplay) is a father/son story of love and loss, as well as a demonic thriller.
